Testimonials
Kind words, experiences, and stories from previous couples. Written, with love.
"My pregnancy with Florence was textbook perfect. However, being a midwife in a tertiary hospital, I was too familiar with interventions. I prepared for all eventualities in labour and birth, but at some point, we realised we hadn't prepared for a normal, low-risk vaginal birth. It wasn't until we went to Queenie's Calmbirth course that I felt like it was reasonable to expect and anticipate a normal birth without intervention. Our preparation seemed to have worked! We laugh now, looking back on Joe's logged heart rate on his Garmin, it only went above 100bpm when her head was on view. A very calm support person indeed."

"We recently completed our Calmbirth course with the beautiful Queenie, and I honestly can't recommend her highly enough. From the moment we walked through the door, she made us feel relaxed, welcomed, and supported. Queenie explained each topic so clearly and brought it to life by sharing her own personal birth stories. It made everything feel so genuine, relatable, and inspiring. By the end of the weekend, it no longer felt like a room full of strangers; it felt like a little community. We are leaving feeling so much more prepared, supported, and excited for what's to come."

Hi, I'm Queenie
A Registered Nurse, Midwife, Calmbirth Educator, and mum.
Supporting women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum is something I feel deeply passionate about.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of caring for women through many different birth experiences, and one thing has become very clear when women feel informed, supported and safe, birth can feel profoundly empowering.
I created Birth & Bump to offer a space that feels warm, grounding and supportive.
A space where birth education feels less overwhelming and more empowering.
A space where you feel heard, supported, and confident in your choices.
My approach blends evidence-based education with practical tools, nurturing support and a deep trust in birth physiology
What you might be wondering...
-
Absolutely. Calmbirth is for all birth journeys, whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth, induction, vaginal birth or caesarean birth. The course is designed to help you feel informed, calm and confident, no matter what path your birth takes. The tools and education shared can support you in making informed choices and approaching birth feeling empowered and prepared.
-
I recommend attending Calmbirth between 24–36 weeks of pregnancy. This gives you plenty of time to absorb the information, practise the techniques, and feel well prepared before birth. That said, if you're outside this timeframe, please reach out, there may still be options available.
-
Yes and I highly encourage it. Calmbirth is designed for both you and your birth partner to attend together. Your partner plays such an important role in helping you feel calm, safe and supported during labour. They'll leave feeling informed, confident and equipped with practical tools to support you throughout birth.
